Full preparation is for those starting from nothing, or whose existing file has to be rebuilt entirely. The work is the same as a review, plus producing the documents.
The scope stops at filing. We do not represent clients before banks: that is a limit we set, and it is deliberate.
The engagement opens with a scoping meeting, which fixes the perimeter and the amount, then it proceeds in an order that is not the reading order: the forecast and the cash plan first, the business plan after. The text is written from the model, never the reverse; a narrative written before the figures always ends up contradicting them somewhere. On your side, you have to supply what the assumptions rest on: quotations, contracts, bookkeeping brought up to date. When the bookkeeping is not up to date, the model rests on statements rather than on accounts, and that is one of the reasons the amount is fixed only after scoping.
The two rounds of corrections sit after your readings, not after the bank's: their purpose is that the file filed is the one you approved line by line, since you are the one who signs it and carries it in. The final review closes the engagement. What we deliver is a complete and coherent file, which is not the same thing as an approval: the committee that decides does not read us, it reads the file, and it applies its own lending rules. The package is therefore not for someone looking for an intermediary with the banks, nor for someone who already has a written file — in that case what is needed is a critical reading, not production.
